Aerie joined Nuru International in 2008. With a background in conflict analysis and rural microfinance, Aerie leads Nuru's international operations. He earned his BA in International Affairs from John Cabot University (Rome, Italy) and his MA in International Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent (Canterbury, UK). It was during his service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in northern Burkina Faso living in the Sahel with nomadic peoples that Aerie found his calling. After witnessing firsthand the devastation of locusts, climate change, desertification, extreme poverty, famine and conflict, Aerie brings a passion for providing meaningful choices to marginalized people who often only have bad options available to them.
