Biography

Prior to joining Babban Gona, Appolo Goma was most recently the Group Chief Operations officer(GCOO) at Notore Chemical Industries with responsibility for all operations including the Technical/Plant functions, commercial function, HR, EHSQ, all core service departments, comprising of Supply Chain/Procurement/ IT, Admin, Security and Community Affairs. In this capacity he oversaw an operation with an annual operating budget of approximately ₦28 Billion, that produced and distributed 300,000 Metric Tons of Fertilizer a year. Appolo Goma commenced his career as a Sales analyst in Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC)/Coca-Cola after which he was moved to the field as District Sales Supervisor. Appolo transitioned from NBC to join UAC as a Management Trainee. He rapidly rose within the organization and was promoted to a full management position in April 2000. By 2005 he rose to the Position of Regional Manager for North Central in the Logistics Business of UACN (MDS Logistics ). In 2005, he transitioned from UAC to join Oando Energy services Limited as Outbound Logistics and warehouse Manager. He worked to establish the structure of delivering materials to upstream clients in the Oil and gas industry. In 2007, he transitioned to join Schlumberger as Inventory Manager for the completions group. In 2008, he joined Notore as the Pioneer Head of Supply and Distribution, where he built the distribution structure for Notore to deliver products to farmers all over the country. He was rapidly promoted to the Head of Supply chain, the Group Head of Shared services for the business, responsible for all service functions in the organization and most recently to the Group Chief Operating Officer.

Appolo Goma has a degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension from University of Calabar and an Executive Certificate in Technology Improvements and Value Chain Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
