Biography

Clarita Arboleda holds a BA in Business from Los Andes University in Colombia and an MA in International Education from New York University´s Steinhardt School of Education, Culture and Human Development. She also pursued a specialization program in Nonprofit Management at NYU´s Wagner School of Public Policy and participated in INSEAD´s Social Entrepreneurship program.

Between 2002 and 2005 she worked in Artesanías de Colombia, the Colombian government agency for the development and sustainability of the handcraft sector, supporting the development of marketing, communication and sustainable development strategies for promoting and strengthening the sector, as well as for increasing sales in international markets.

For the last 12 years she has worked at Fundación Escuela Nueva (FEN) leading its international implementation and growth strategy and coordinating several projects. During the last three years she has acted as Head of Operations, ensuring planning and strategy definition, the smooth running and strategic alignment of all national and international operations, and leading strategies for institutional and managerial strengthening. Clarita also provides strategic oversight to FEN´s project management office, which centralizes project design, planning and execution in all 5 strategic areas of the organization.
