Manoj Bhatt

Biography

Mr. Manoj Bhatt has nearly two decades of professional experience. He has been leading development projects, organizations, social movements, advocacy campaigns and action research in south Asia. His work has been recognized by several national and international organizations. Mr. Bhatt is the recipient of the Ashoka Innovators for the Public Fellowship Award; Ford Foundation International Fellowship; and Climate Change Leader Award. Mr. Bhatt holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, NYC, MA in Political Science and Bachelor of Science degree from HNB University in India.

As a social entrepreneur Manoj has established examples of green economic empowerment, citizen driven change, and leadership of newly elected women in grassroots Governance in India. He represented the Central Himalayan NGOs in the Rio+5 Earth Summit in 1997. He was fellow of Future Generations USA to learn from world-class social entrepreneurs and their work in India and the USA. Mr. Bhatt was also a two-year Fellow of the Rainer Arnhold Fellows Program of the Mulago Foundation USA and applied theories of sustainable change at different scales in the U.S., India, and Nepal.
