Manoj Bhatt

Biography

Manoj Bhatt is GoodWeave’s India Country Director. GoodWeave is a unique organization that harnesses market power over production chains by licensing retailers and importers into the certification program. Currently working with over 140 brands globally GoodWeave works to clean up supply chains by independently monitoring against the GoodWeave Standard, including all tiers of production from factory to village to home. It works to rescue, rehabilitate and educate former child weavers and offer education to children in weaving communities and ensure decent work for adults.

Mr. Bhatt has nearly two decades of professional experience in leading systemic change and building organizations. He is recipient of numerous honors and awards for his exceptional public service, including the Ashoka Fellowship Award; Ford Foundation International Fellowship and Climate Change Leader Award. He was a Future Generations USA Fellow, working with world-class leaders and professionals leading exemplary and high impact social change in different parts of the world. Mr. Bhatt was also a Fellow of the Rainer Arnhold Fellows Program of the Mulago Foundation; USA.

Mr. Bhatt holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University; USA and a certificate in Citizen Driven Development from Cody International Institute, Canada.

Prior to GoodWeave India, Mr. Bhatt founded and directed a network of non-profits working to build green communities by connecting local entrepreneurs, businesses, communities and public policy. He also led a large non-profit in Indian Himalayas in partnerships with more than fifteen prestigious global development agencies.

Mr. Bhatt is a member of the Technical Committee of ISEAL Alliance that represents the global movement of sustainability standards.
