Rich Leimsider

Executive Director, Safe Passage Project

Biography

Rich Leimsider is the Executive Director of Safe Passage Project, a nonprofit that provides free lawyers to child refugees in the NYC-area who who are being deported. Safe Passage Project currently represents 800+ children with 28 full-time staff and the help of 400+ pro bono attorneys.

Earlier, Rich developed and ran programs for social entrepreneurs at Echoing Green, including both the Climate and Black Male Achievement Fellowships. He also created the Aspen Institute’s Center for Business Education and failed at an attempt to create a national service alumni organization. He serves as a board member of the West African agricultural finance organization myAgro. Rich is a graduate of Williams College and Harvard Business School and has most of an MSW from the University of Texas. He lives in Brooklyn with his family.
