Microfinance Business Director, Citigroup, Inc.
Safiye Ozuygun is Business Director for Citi Microfinance working with Citi businesses, key multinational and local clients, development agencies, banks and MFIs to structure scalable commercial solutions to expand access to financial services in unbanked communities. Safiye joined Citibank Istanbul in 1994 and has worked in various roles spanning from global corporate client coverage as a senior banker to EMEA region head of internal audit and risk management. Her energy and commitment to the advancement of women at the workplace has led her to actively participate in the internal women’s organization Citi Women UK and served as a co-chair. She has also co-founded Women Advancing Microfinance (WAM) in London which is a networking platform connecting/supporting women engaged in financial inclusion and microfinance both in the UK and internationally. She is an advisor to the Foundation for the Support of Women’s Work-an NGO in Turkey and a mentor at Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.
