  • founder, APOPO
    Bart is a Zen priest and celebrated social entrepreneur. In 1995 he founded the organisation APOPO, which saves human lives from disaster and disease by training HeroRATs. Based on the shared vision that inner wellbeing is a prerequisite to do sustainably well in society, he joined The Wellbeing Project in 2015, to shift the culture in the field of social change to a more caring and compassionate one. In 2017 he co-founded lagrandeterre.org, a permaculture/wellbeing center in the French Ardennes. Bart has been elected an ASHOKA fellow and a SCHWAB fellow to the World Economic Forum. He won the Skoll Award for social Entrepreneurship in 2009. Bart holds a Masters in Product Design from Antwerp University, Belgium.
  • Executive Director, Action Network for the Disabled
    Fredrick Ouko Alucheli is the Executive Director of Action Network for the Disabled (ANDY). ANDY is a national disabled people's organization that invests in enhancing life prospects of children and youth with disabilities through education and sustainable livelihoods. He has also founded a social enterprise that facilitates access to job opportunities for persons with disabilities in Kenya known as Riziki Source (rizikisource.org) He served on the Disability Rights Fund Global Advisory Panel. Fredrick is a board member of Little Rock Inclusive Early Childhood Education Centre, an educational institution that caters for children with disabilities. In 2012, he was elected an Ashoka Fellow for his commitment towards issues of disability and employment and Atlantic fellow in 2017.He has BA in political science and sociology from the University of Nairobi, a postgraduate certificate in social innovation management from Amani Institute and currently finishing an MBA in Social entrepreneurship.
  • Director and founder, Laboratorio para la Ciudad
    Gabriella directs “Laboratorio para la Ciudad*, Mexico City`s new creative think-tank and experimental space: a place to reflect about all things city, and ponder social scripts and urban futures for the largest megalopolis on the American continent: from the speculative (even outlandish) to the practical. This project came about through a personal invitation by Dr. Miguel Angel Mancera– Mexico City`s elected and liberal Mayor– to incorporate “Laboratorio para la Ciudad” into the city`s official structure for the next 6 years. This novel initiative will support creativity and civic innovation through the different layers of both government and social-space, intermingled. In addition to directing Laboratorio para la Ciudad, Gabriella is a writer, visual artist, documentary film director, cultural advisor and arts curator, plus a Yale World Fellow, TED Senior Fellow, Institute for the Future Fellow, Fabrica alumni and World Cities Summit Young Leader.

Chief Executive of Doc Society (formerly BRITDOC) Doc Society gives funding and support to Oscar nominated documentaries such as CITIZENFOUR, Virunga, Whose Streets, Hooligan Sparrow, The Square and The Look of Silence. Doc Society is well known for backing films with a social change potential and training filmmakers and Impact Producers to devise and deliver engagement campaigns (impactguide.org). In partnership with the Ford Foundation and The Sundance Institute, Doc Society created and runs The Good Pitch which partners films with NGOs, foundations and brands. Events take place around the world - India, Colombia, Indonesia, Argentina, Australia, Kenya and across the US and Europe. Next stop Amsterdam and Detroit.
  • Executive Director, Institute for the Future
    MARINA GORBIS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, INSTITUTE FOR THE FUTURE Marina Gorbis is a futurist and social scientist who serves as executive director to the Institute for the Future (IFTF), a Silicon Valley nonprofit research and consulting organization. In her 18 years with IFTF, Marina has brought a futures perspective to hundreds of organizations in business, education, government and philanthropy to improve innovation capacity, develop strategies, and design new products and services. Marina’s current research focuses on how social production is changing the face of major industries, a topic explored in detail in her book, The Nature of the Future: Dispatches from the Socialstructed World. She has also blogged and written for BoingBoing.net, FastCompany, Harvard Business Review, and major media outlets. A native of Odessa, Ukraine, yet equally at home in Silicon Valley, Europe, India, and Kazakhstan, Marina is particularly well suited to see things from a global viewpoint. She has keynoted such international events as The Next Web Conference, NEXT Berlin, the World Business Forum, the National Association of Broadcasters annual convention, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges annual conference. She holds a BA in psychology and a master’s of public policy from UC Berkeley.
