Andrew Hutson

Senior Director, Environmental Defense Fund

Biography

Dr. Hutson leads Environmental Defense Fund's Fishery Solution Center, a team of diverse, highly-talented experts driving the Oceans Program's science, fisheries management design, capacity building, and markets work. Prior to his current role, he spent nearly nine years with EDF+Business where he opened EDF’s office in Bentonville, Arkansas, worked to reduce energy use in Chinese factories, and partnered with leading food companies to halt deforestation. Andrew recently served on a committee of the National Research Council of the National Academies to provide guidance to the Environmental Protection Agency on sustainability tools and metrics.

He received his Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Masters in Environmental Management (MEM) from Duke University. He graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in International Relations.
