Biography

Dorcus has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Computing. Dorcus’ personal struggle has inspired her to work with Life Support Organization for Persons with Disabilities to ensure that no one else has to endure her experience. Dorcus encourages women in her community to join rotational savings group and use the funds to start small businesses. Dorcus is making sure that women living with disability are joining the savings scheme and participating actively in community initiatives. Following her inspiration from YALI entrepreneurship, in her efforts to economically empower women with disabilities in her community, she initiated a skills development program for women with disabilities, in this program, she engages women with disabilities in making detergents like liquid and bar soap, jick, and Vaseline. They market these products and use the profits to meet their daily needs and education needs of their children.
