Elyssa is passionate about the power of evaluation to drive learning and progress and applies this passion to her work as Senior Analyst on the Evaluation & Learning team. In her role, she captures, synthesizes and shares information about the Foundation’s awardees, their impact and the issues on which they work. Elyssa especially enjoys educating and collaborating with others on how to effectively utilize evaluation thinking and tools across the Foundation’s many issue areas.
Before joining the Skoll Foundation, Elyssa worked at the USAID Horticulture Innovation Lab, where she managed the Trellis Fund Program and undertook several monitoring and evaluation projects in Tanzania and Cambodia. She has also worked in South Africa as an evaluation consultant for the local NGO, SaveAct, which trains savings groups and provides agricultural extension to rural and peri-urban communities.
Elyssa holds dual M.Sc. degrees from UC Davis in Agriculture & Resource Economics and International Agricultural Development, as well as a B.Sc. from UC Berkeley in Conservation and Resource Studies and Global Poverty. In her spare time, you can often find her in the kitchen cooking up a storm or out on one of the Bay Area’s fabulous hiking trails.
