Fenella Kernebone

Biography

Fenella Kernebone is the Head of Curation for TEDxSydney responsible for leading the programming for what has become one of the largest TEDx events in the world with more than 5000 people expected to attend in May 2019 at ICC Sydney. Fenella is also responsible for the programming of TEDxYouth@Sydney, TEDxSydney's Salon series and Pitch Nights.

As a television / radio presenter and producer, Fenella's career has spanned arts, music, design and culture. Her hosting roles have included Radio National’s By Design; The Sound Lab on Triple J; Art Nation and Sunday Arts on ABC TV; and The Movie Show on SBS TV. Other hosting roles include guest presenting slots on ABC TV’s The Mix, RN’s The Inside Sleeve; ABC TV’s Artscape, The J Files on Double J, RN’s Weekend Arts and ABC online series, Design Shots. She also hosted the TEDxSydney simulcast from 2014 - 2016.

Fenella is currently the host of a new podcast called Lumina through the Australian Film Television and Radio School about how tech innovations challenge and shape the way we share stories. Lumina was released in November 2018 with a second season due to be recorded in 2019. Other podcasts include hosting a season of the Sydney Opera House's podcast, It's a Long Story during the 2017 Vivid Festival. In 2015 and 2016 Fenella produced and presented 11 episodes of her podcast series Trackwork, interviewing Australian musicians and artists about the production process.

As an MC, moderator, interviewer and speaker, Fenella has presented at countless events around the country and internationally, this includes MC for Xerocon Brisbane 2018 & TEDxSydney 2018 as well as Sydney Opera House Antidote Festival, Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney Ideas and the Architecture Festival. She is also a presentation and public speaking trainer, Ideas Curator and Creative Consultant.
