Fred de Sam Lazaro

Biography

Fred de Sam Lazaro has served the PBS NewsHour as a correspondent since 1985. His Agents for Change series is a regular feature of the program, focused on ideas to tackle the myriad consequences of poverty worldwide. Fred has reported from 70 countries and also directed films from India and the Democratic Republic of Congo for the acclaimed documentary series, Wide Angle.
Fred also directs the Undertold Stories Project, at the University of St Thomas, a program that uses storytelling to enrich students' understanding of pressing global issues.
