Head of Sanitation, Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor

Biography

Georges is currently WSUP's Head of Sanitation, responsible for supporting the sanitation components of WSUP's six country programmes. He has over 10 years of experience in the UK, North America, Africa, Middle East and South and Southeast Asia. He worked as an environmental engineer for six of those years undertaking remediation and monitoring work on air, water (ground and surface) and soil at Conestoga Rovers and Associates (CRA) in Canada and USA, and with Gulf Consult in Saudi Arabia.

For four years prior to joining WSUP Georges worked as an independent consultant in the development sector providing such services as financial and market analysis of sanitation services, sanitation planning, and policy analysis in public health. He started his development work in rural Cambodia on a small water and sanitation project and gradually progressed to providing professional consulting services mainly in the urban sanitation sector. As an independent consultant he worked with WSUP, Eawag-Sandec, WEDC, World Bank, IDE Cambodia and Tremolet Consulting.
