Biography

Meagan is the Former CEO of Indias Barefoot College International and now an active Board member. She is the Founder of Step Up Advisors, a unique consulting group working to architect systems change partnerships between Social Entrepreneurs, NGOs, Private Sector and Government. Step up works with its clients to boldly create business models which ensure stakeholder equity to build resiliency and multi dimensional profit impacts.

She has recently been named Chief Impact Officer and Advisory Board member at Innoterra, an Indian/Swiss Agri Food venture company and has taken up an Advisory position with the Christensen Global Environmental consultancy.

She is working to build a universal Learn to Earn digital platform called LEAP to support rural farmers with hi touch/hi tech approaches to learning front line climate adaptation , mitigation and regeneration strategies. A focus on bringing more women into a formal farming ecosystem is being developed through climate finance incentives.

Throughout her decade as CEO and Director of Barefoot College International, a commitment to leveraging the “Barefoot Approach” towards addressing the pressing challenges of economic inequality, human rights & climate change, has been achieved though a dynamic partnership model between people, public and private sectors at global scale. Meagan and her team at Barefoot College worked to dramatically scale the “Solar Mamas” ZERO CARBON initiative of community owned and led access to energy model and the launch of Bindi Solar; an all woman fabricated, designed and serviced solar product line.

Meagan Fallone led the global expansion of the Barefoot College across 15 States in India and 96 countries in the Global South. Additionally she established a further 6 Barefoot College Women’s Vocational Training Centers in Sub Saharan Africa, Latin America, SE Asia and the Pacific; to triple the size of the Barefoot College by 20l9.
