Executive Director, Shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha (Bangladesh Floating School)
Architect Mohammed Rezwan is the founder of Shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha, a not-for-profit development organization in Bangladesh. He invented “solar-powered floating school” to ensure access to year round and quality education in flood-prone regions. He developed, expanded, and sustained the floating schools over 10 years. Drawing on his architectural expertise, he designs spaces on boats that successfully accommodate the needs of schools, libraries, and training and healthcare centres. Rezwan has also served on international advisory committees dealing with education, technology, and environment. Shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha won a WISE Award in 2012.
