Biography

Most recently, Ntongi McFadyen oversaw the strategic direction and growth of Save the Children's financial services and employment portfolio. The portfolio supports program delivery, research, and public-private partnerships that assist low-income populations in accumulating assets, managing risk, and gaining access to skills and networks to get a job or build a business. Previously, Ntongi was an independent consultant providing advisory and research services in the areas of financial services, SME development, and social entrepreneurship. She was involved in initiatives across Africa, Asia, Middle East and Eurasia and Latin America, with global organizations including AT&T, USAID, ShoreBank International, Ford Foundation, Global Ag Risk, Oxfam GB and Save the Children. Prior to consulting, Ntongi spent eight years with Save the Children specializing in financial and business support services for microfinance institutions and entrepreneurs around the world. Ntongi earned a BA in Economics and Political Science from Virginia Tech University and an MBA from Oxford University, where she was a Skoll Scholar for Social Entrepreneurship.
