Rukmini Banerji is CEO of Pratham Education Foundation in India. She joined Pratham in 1996 and has extensive field experience in program implementation in rural and urban areas as well as in research. Rukmini also led the ASER (Annual Status of Education Report) effort for 10 years from 2005 to 2014. ASER measures basic learning levels of children in every rural district in India. Initially trained as an economist in India, she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. Originally from Bihar, she now is based in New Delhi. She loves telling and writing stories for children.
